The not-for-profit pharmaceutical proof-of-concept has already been
established by organizations such as The Institute for OneWorld Health
(iOWH), whose mission is to develop safe, effective, and affordable new
medicines for people with infectious diseases in the developing world.
With the licensing of paromomycin in fall 2006 for the treatment of
Black Fever in India, the iOWH demonstrated how not-for-profit
companies can fill unmet needs and increase patient value.

GlobalCures believes that we now have a unique opportunity to extend
the non-profit concept to other diseases, especially cancer.
